This
mentoring and leadership development program is designed for youth who
desire to serve in ministry. Through
training and hands on experience they learn responsibility and have a great
time serving the Lord. CITs
assist counselors and program staff (mostly for our Day Camps), preparing
them to become future camp counselors and leaders. CITs must be 13
by their first CIT week. (CITs
who serve at least 6 weeks over two summers and receive excellent
evaluations are eligible for early consideration as a counselor at age 16.)
New
for 2003: CITs
will start their training with a free CIT LEADERSHIP CAMP at Red Barn
Ranch! Starting Friday, May 30th
at 6pm with a pizza and pop dinner, and ending May 31st at 4pm,
this action-packed weekend is required for all CITs and will feature
training and activities never done at Berachah before!
Just a glimpse into the weekend:
meet our new full-time CIT leader, face the high ropes course at
night, and take part in interactive activities and role-playing training.
In addition to this Leadership Camp, each CIT will receive a fun and
challenging devotional/leadership book, and other training materials and
will also have weekly group meetings with the CIT Leader.
As an added bonus: CITs can register for free bus transportation
(if needed). CITs can also register and receive a 25% discount on Safari
camps, 50% discounts on Teen Camp and Soccer Camp.
All
new and returning CITs must first apply on-line
or call our office for a CIT application packet.
All applicants must complete a Camp Berachah CIT summer application
and receive a ministry recommendation from a pastor or youth leader.
And as with all Camp Berachah staff (volunteer or paid), they must
accept our Statement of Faith and Ministry Purpose, and confess their own
acceptance of Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
After a screening interview and acceptance into the program,
individuals can then register
for their CIT weeks. All
materials must be received by May 1, 2003 for consideration.

Whoever
wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to
be first must be a slave of all. for even the Son of Man did not come to be
served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many
Mark 10:43-45
Spending a
week learning about being a servant leader may change your life. Why
not consider registering for this special program at Camp Berachah this
summer? Leadership has been defined as: knowing what to do next; knowing why
that is important, and knowing how to bring the appropriate resources to
bear for the need at hand. You will spend a week with a small group, learn
how to become a team, and build your confidence and skills for leadership.
This camp is for teens who are in positions of leadership, are serious
about God's call on their life, and desire to be an example to others.
The challenge course, high ropes course and small classroom interaction will
allow and help you grow into a great leader at your church, school and when
you graduate. After participating in this week long program each individual
will walk away with the knowledge of how to be a Godly leader in not so
Godly of times, what their strongest gift as a leader is, and how to
encourage others to develop their leadership potential. As part of the
leadership camp, you will attend the Legend services in the evening, go the
the famous lake day, and have other recreational opportunities. |
